Michael E. Ryer, as the President and CEO of Amigos Internacionales, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role. With over 43 years in ministry, he has served as an Associate Pastor in various churches across North and East Texas. His journey began in Commerce, Texas, where he served as the Music/Youth Minister at Boyd Baptist Church in Bonham, TX, while still a student.
Michael's commitment to his family is evident in his 40-year marriage to Dana Buhman Ryer. Together, they have two children, Ashlie Kraus and Austin Ryer. His multifaceted experience in ministry includes roles in youth, music, education, and administration, and he has also contributed as a college instructor at Navarro College and as an online instructor for Grand Canyon University, focusing on subjects like the Old Testament, New Testament, and the History of Christianity.
Missions have been a central part of Michael's ministry life. He has served as a Summer Missionary in Israel, a ministry staff member in Guam, and has led numerous mission trips across Canada and to the Texas Mexico valley. His recent work in Punta Gorda, Belize, involved setting up a mobile kitchen to feed the needy, reflecting his deep commitment to humanitarian causes.
Michael has collaborated with Dr. John La Noue in churches and has been actively involved in disaster relief, playing a significant role in managing relief efforts for hurricane victims. His leadership extended to organizing a Red Cross Relief Warehouse during the Katrina and Rita disasters and coordinating a 24-hour trauma/shelter for victims, showcasing his ability to mobilize resources and people for critical causes.
As he continues to lead Amigos Internacionales, Michael remains enthusiastic about the future and the organization's potential to make a significant impact under God's guidance
